Vegas ‘08 Day 2 …

Day 5 for me but what a relief - no early rush to the conference center, no sessions to list and go to, no lines, no powerpoint slides … in other words, it’s vacation time! Waking up to a view like this really sets your mind, body and spirit to the right relaxation levels …

For Daddy and the kids, the trick is to practice in bed before hitting the tables tonight…

Playing cards in bed

Afterwards, we went down to check what they have in store at the mini-mart, activities desk and the library…

Checking downstairs

We checked out some DVDs and games and went back to our suite to play High School Musical a bit …

Then we hit the pool …

Another Vegas in June …

or is it another June in Vegas? We’re always hoping Mom gets to join her company’s annual conference in Vegas because it’s always in June and we’re out of school and sometimes it means we follow her the weekend after their business sessions are over. We didn’t get to be so lucky last year because Dad went to the Philippines so Mom was the only one who went… This year promises to be a lot of Vegas from all the relative weddings in the calendar plus this one — although this particular one looks like it’s starting out slow because we got in late today. I did enjoy waiting for and watching the fountains of Bellagio from our bedroom window…

… and nothing beats just going down the street and enjoying the fountains from this angle. The music is a lot clearer this way too.

Definitely something to look forward to every night that we’re here this year. Manong said we’ve watched this several times before but I don’t remember enjoying it so much…

Tita Misttie & Cousin Carmen

It has been a long time that we’ve seen tita Misttie and cousin Carmen so they sent us some pics. We also heard that tita Ruby’s copies actually went back to them so Mom scanned the pics and uploaded them so all the titas and titos including Mama and Granddad can see them, too. Here you go, everyone!

Mom’s Tea Day

At school, Jara’s class organized lunch for us to celebrate Mom’s day …

After being escorted to each of our places, we were entertained by the kids with several songs starting with “My Mom …”

I’ll do what’s right, right, right …

And more songs …

At the end of the program, Mrs. Young also told us the story of a mom with her two kids in ‘I Love You the Purplest”. We then went to the garden to free the butterflies and came back inside for a special dessert, mud cake complete with gummy worm. I almost wished I didn’t have to go back to work …

Cool first weekend in May …

… and I don’t mean like those chilly temperatures we still seem to get in the mornings even though we’re already going into summer. Well, the weather was actually kind of nice, not too hot and not too cold — just about right for all the things we did. Guess who did which below?

First Saturday in May

So how was your first Saturday in May? Ours was like this — I started laundry with the kids while dad worked on the orchids, some TV time before and after lunch, then dad went to play golf with a friend at work. After a short visit from James and Jamie, his girlfriend, the kids and I passed by the office to get some printouts on our way to the library and then in the spirit of starting the summer movie season on the first weekend of May, we went to watch Iron Man, ate lots of popcorn and drank lots of soda (white cherry for LJ and Jara). I’d say we contributed to the predicted upwards of $100+M for Iron Man’s first weekend…

Dad brought his golf scorecard home so here goes …

… and if you can’t see, here’s the tally …

Jara also brought home our tickets and since I still have my unused ticket for the advance screening that I missed because I had work commitments, here goes…

Discovery Kingdom in April

LJ chose Discovery Kingdom over our annual summer party with friends and relatives. So we went yesterday and all had a blast! Here’s for our normal family pic album. I’ll upload the other pictures later.
